How does an estate cleanout work?
It starts with a walkthrough of the home and a written estimate. The family takes what they want first. Then the crew goes room by room, setting aside photos, papers and valuables, sending usable items to donation where they're accepted, recycling metal and electronics where possible and hauling the rest. It ends with a sweep and a final walkthrough.
How long does a whole-house cleanout take?
It depends on how big the house is and how full. A small apartment can be cleared in a day. A packed three- or four-bedroom home with a garage, attic or basement often takes two to four days, longer if the family wants a careful search through every drawer. You get a time estimate with the price.
What is a foreclosure trash-out?
A trash-out removes everything left in a foreclosed, bank-owned or abandoned property: furniture, belongings, trash and debris, inside and out. The property is left broom-clean so it can be inspected, repaired and listed. Before-and-after photos are usually part of the job.
What won't you take?
We don't haul paint and other liquids, chemicals, fuel, propane tanks, asbestos or medical waste. In Benton County, many household hazardous materials can go to the Benton County Solid Waste District's drop-off sites instead (fees and limits apply). Ask about anything you're unsure of during the walkthrough.
How do you price a cleanout?
By the job, after we've seen it. Volume (how many loads) is the biggest factor, followed by access (stairs, long carries), how much sorting you want, any heavy or special items, and your deadline. You get a written estimate before anything moves.
